Meet Latigo David- A Former Child Soldier

Meet Latigo David

He is one of the many children living in Consolation Home at St. Jude Children’s Home in Gulu, Uganda.  Consolation Home is a place that is equipped to care for children with special needs.

David is 25 years old and has been living in Consolation Home since 2005.  He was captured by Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in 2003 and was made a child soldier.  In a 2014 battle with Ugandan Soliders, David was shot in the spine and paralyzed.  His parents are alive but unable to provide for his medical care and education.

As a result of your generosity, Social Promise was able to purchase a brand new wheel chair for David which has helped to improve his mobility and has enabled him to transport himself to school.
